TBS Celebrate Their Graduates
TBS marked their 12th anniversary with a vibrant graduation ceremony, celebrating their newest graduates in a night to remember. Hosted in the majestic garden of the British Consulate General in Istanbul, the evening was led by the school’s founder
Dr. Mehmet Gültekin and his wife, Emel Gültekin.
British Consul General Kenan Poleo attended the event, offering his congratulations and best wishes to the graduates. The evening brought together distinguished guests from the worlds of business, arts, and society. Media personality Acun Ilıcalı, attending to celebrate his daughter’s graduation, expressed his joy at being part of this meaningful event. Renowned singer Mustafa Sandal was also among the honored guests.
In his address, Dr. Mehmet Gültekin emphasized that the high-quality international education provided at TBS enables students to receive direct admissions from leading universities around the world. “It is no coincidence that our graduates are accepted into the world’s top universities every year. It is the natural result of receiving an education grounded in strong academic infrastructure and a multicultural environment,” he said. Dr. Gültekin also highlighted that Tarabya British Schools is the first and only institution in Turkey whose graduates are admitted to world universities without the need for entrance exams. “Our students are not the ones being chosen—they are the ones who choose the universities and programs they want to study,” he added.
A Night of Music, Dreams, and Celebration
The evening, brought to life by the heartfelt hosting of Bekir Aksoy and Deniz Kilislioğlu, reached its emotional peak as students tossed their caps into the air—an iconic moment marking the beginning of their new journeys.
One of the night’s unforgettable highlights was a captivating performance by pop star Sertab Erener, who took the stage with students to sing together. The celebration continued with an electrifying, space-themed show by internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Burak Yeter, whose recent stratospheric performance earned him a Guinness World Record for the highest-altitude DJ set ever performed. His live set made the night truly unforgettable for the young audience.
The TBS graduation ceremony was more than a celebration of academic success—it was a powerful sendoff for a generation stepping confidently into a visionary future.
